Diana Sipes, D.M.A. B.M., M.M., University of South Carolina Diana Tiffany Sipes, D.M.A. is currently an Associate Professor of Music at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. Her teaching areas in the Department of Music include music history and theory courses in addition to applied flute and flute choir. Dr. Sipes has been principal flutist with the Corpus Christi Symphony Orchestra since 1994 as well as with the Victoria Symphony Orchestra since 1997. She has also performed in orchestras in South Carolina, Georgia, Louisiana, and Ohio. A native of South Carolina, Dr. Sipes earned a Bachelor of Music Education with a Performance Certificate and a Master of Music Education from the University of South Carolina and a Doctor of Musical Arts in flute performance from Louisiana State University. Her primary flute teachers include Dr. Glen Riggin, Dr. Constance Lane, and Dr. Katherine Kemler, and she has played in masterclasses for flutists including Paula Robison, Bonita Boyd, Stephen Preston, and Rene Siebert. She remains active at the regional, state, and national level as an adjudicator and clinician.
