Associate Professor Ronald Scott holds a Ph.D. with a major in conducting from Texas Tech University, and has had an active and varied career as a performer, teacher and conductor. He accepted his current appointment at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi in 2002. He had a previous appointment at Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas. As a professional clarinetist, he has performed recently with the Corpus Christi Symphony Orchestra, the Victoria Symphony Orchestra and Keith Brion’s New Sousa Band. As an arranger, Dr. Scott has published works for clarinet choir to his credit, including performances at state and international conferences. Presently he is serving as the conductor of the University Orchestra, which he established in 2004. His other teaching activities at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi include courses in basic conducting, orchestration and clarinet.
