Shane Anderson, D.M.A. B.M in Applied Piano, Eastman School of Music Dr. Shane Anderson, assistant professor of music, joined the faculty of Texas A&M University—Corpus Christi in Fall 2006. Dr. Anderson received a Doctor of Musical Arts and Master of Music degrees in Applied Piano from the University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Music degree in Applied Piano with high distinction from the Eastman School of Music. He teaches piano and coordinates music theory and ear training for the department. Prior to teaching at TAMUCC, Dr. Anderson has taught at Texas A&M University—Kingsville and served as a graduate teaching assistant in class and private piano at The University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Anderson has studied piano with Nelita True and Nancy Garrett and piano pedagogy with Sophia Gilmson, Martha Hilley, Tony Caramia and the late Amanda Vick Lethco. Dr. Anderson has performed as a solo pianist and collaborative pianist in Texas, Louisiana, Tennessee, New York and Georgia, and has performed as a soloist with the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra, the Sewanee Symphony and the Southeastern Music Center Orchestra. He has also served as pianist for the Victoria Symphony Orchestra and the Corpus Christi Symphony Orchestra. As a music theorist, Dr. Anderson has presented papers on the music
of Olivier Messiaen at the Hawaii International Conference on Arts
and Humanities and at Couleurs dans le vent: Celebrating the Music
of Olivier Messiaen, an international conference at The University
